A VOICE FOR ALL OF WALKER COUNTY
I am running for the Walker County School Board in Walker County, Georgia. I grew up in Rossville, Georgia, and attended Happy Valley Elementary School, Rossville Middle School, and Ridgeland High School, from which I graduated in 1993. I am married to my high school sweetheart of 32 years, Amber (Grizzle) Middleton, a 1996 Ridgeland graduate.
Since our marriage in 1997, Amber and I have raised our three children—Courtland, Conner, and Carson—here in Walker County. We have lived in Flintstone, Georgia, for 26 years. Our family also includes three dogs (Pups, Gus, and Bear), three cats (Diesel, Sophie, and Grey Cat), and two chickens (Chicken 1 and Chicken 2).
I am seeking election to the District 3 Board Seat with the goal of enhancing the Walker County School System through increased transparency, accountability, and growth. I am committed to fostering positive change in our children's daily lives and recognizing the vital contributions of teachers and families. Decisions made by the board impact not just families with school-aged children but all taxpayers in Walker County.
With 27 years of experience in the geo-textile industry, currently with Synthetic Industries/Propex Operating Company LLC, I have progressed from an entry-level position to a leadership role. This experience has equipped me with the skills necessary for collaborative goal-setting and effective leadership. I am dedicated to bringing this expertise to the Walker County School Board to support our community and improve our educational system.
Transparency: I pledge to ensure that all board decisions and processes are open and accessible to the public. Regular updates and clear communication will be a priority, so that every stakeholder, including parents, teachers, and taxpayers, is informed and engaged in our educational system.
Accountability: I will hold myself and the board accountable for the decisions we make and the outcomes we achieve. By establishing clear goals and measuring progress, I will ensure that we are responsive to the needs of our students and community, and that we operate with integrity and responsibility.
Growth: I am dedicated to fostering continuous improvement in our schools. This includes supporting innovative programs, investing in professional development for educators, and seeking ways to enhance student outcomes. Growth will be driven by a commitment to evaluating and adapting our strategies to meet the evolving needs of our students and community.
Together, through transparency, accountability, and growth, we can create a stronger, more effective educational system that benefits every student in Walker County.
